IV International Symposium Amonet Women Scientists as Global Solution Providers Celebrating AMONET 10th Anniversary 1-2 December 2014 Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon - Portugal ? [Registration] [Speakers] [Programme] [Venue] [Amonet] |
? The IV International Symposium of Amonet will focus in the discussion of how women scientists are global solution providers. AMONET has chosen the picture of Maria de Lourdes Pintassilgo for the Symposium logo as homage to this leading Portuguese woman. Maria de Lourdes Pintassilgo (1930-2004) became Prime Minister of Portugal soon after the 1974 Carnation Revolution at a critical social, economic and political time, when democracy was being established in the country. A chemical engineer by training, her early interests included social and economic aspects and she boldly accepted the challenge to run the Portuguese government. There was no other woman to follow on her steps, and the percentage of women in the Portuguese governments continues to be still very far from parity. ? Organising Committee |
